Summary of 2017 AGM

Summary of the 2017 AGM      (Click here to see photos of the event)

Saturday 25 November was a bright and sunny day and those keen to work up an appetite met up with Fred Davis at Herne Hill. Our route took us to Brockwell Park and the Effra ponds, Rosendale Road with the impressive church, Belair Park and Belair House, the Dulwich picture gallery and Dulwich Park to arrive at St Faiths Community Hall. The elves had been busy. Delicious hot soup, bread, cheeses and cakes awaited. A feast indeed.

Then to the AGM. A successful year was reported with eleven new leaders emerging and a record number of walks in the winter programme. We thanked two retiring members of the committee – Angela Smith, the retiring treasurer and Aleck Thompson who represented us at the Inner London meetings. We welcomed Kleo Zhao as the new membership secretary.        There were some changes in the officers of the committee. Sue Ellenby, our enthusiastic and energetic chair during the past three years, became the vice chair. Ann Constable is the new secretary, Dick Dunmore the new treasurer and I have the honour of being chair.

Dick’s quiz of aerial views of places that our walks had all visited and Dave’s photographs running on a big screen provided the light entertainment.

Happy walking. I hope to see many of you at the next AGM which will be on Saturday 10 November 2018.
