Sat 25th JUL 2026 - SOUTH DOWNS HIKE - LEWES CIRCULAR VIA MALLING DOWN AND GLYNDE - Nick W.
A brisk walk over the South Downs via the village of Glynde, with stunning views in all directions. We leave Lewes by the Railway Land Local Nature Reserve and Chapel Hill to reach Malling Down Nature Reserve before descending into Glynde for lunch. In the afternoon we ascend Mount Caburn, the site of an ancient hillfort, and descend through an Open Access area with wild ponies. This is a demanding walk with many hills some of which are steep.
