South Bank Ramblers

Sun 24 March 2019 - 8.5 miles - BENFLEET TO SOUTHEND-ON-SEA - Leader: Sharyn

A walk through the lush woods of Hadleigh Park high above the Thames-side marshes with extensive views over the Thames estuary and Canvey Island, climbing to the spectacular ruins of Hadleigh Castle before a wander through the lovely fishing village of Old Leigh. Lunch will be at Leigh, plenty of choice. After lunch the walk will continue along the promenade to Southend. Drop out point at Leigh. Lunch: At Leigh-on-Sea with good picnic spots or choice of pub plus Sarah's charming tea rooms.
