A South Downs walk with some tough climbs along the way. From Berwick, the walk cuts across to Arlington Reservoir then crosses farmland towards Wilmington before climbing to the huge chalk figure of the Long Man. From here the route continues to the historic smuggling village of Jevington and then ascends the South Downs before descending to the sea at Eastbourne. Lunch: A late lunch at Jevington after 6.7 miles. Pub, picnic or tea room
