Sat 1 June 2019 - 6 miles - A HISTORIC CATHEDRAL CITY & ST CATHERINE'S HILL, WINCHESTER - Leader: Roger B
This walk takes in many of the major points of interest and some of its prettiest streets. It then carries on out along the idyllic River Itchen to St Catherines Hill, the iron age hillfort, from where there are spectacular views of the city. On to St Cross including a pretty approach to the church along the watermeadows and back to Winchester for a late lunch with time to explore the City and Cathedral. One ascent and descent at St Catherine's Hill both by steps. (SWC15). Lunch: Plenty of eateries & picnic spots in Winchester at end of walk.
