Sat 19 October 2019 10:20 - 8 miles - BESIDE THE SEA. HASTINGS - Leader: Martin F
An atmospheric autumn cliff top and coastal walk and a ramble through Hastings old town with a fish and chip lunch next to Hasting's Contemporary Art Gallery and the sea followed by a walk through woodland and onto the pier and back to the station. There is a choice of an extended walk along the sea front to St Leonard's on Sea with its bohemian artists quarter and numerous cafes before returning from its station. There are one or two moderate ascents on prepared paths in both the urban and woodland environment of Bohemia and Summerfield. There are many sheltered places if wet and many drop off points. Lunch: Picnic amidst fishing boats or fish and chips at one of many cafes.

A lunch time stroll on the beach - no takers for a swim.
