South Bank Ramblers

Sat 26 October 2019 - 10 miles - CHILTERN BEECH AND CHALK UPLANDS. ROYSTON - Leader: Martin F

An autumn walk through the rolling fields and beech woods above the market town of Royston. Inspiring views throughout especially to the distant Fens and Cambridgeshire from Therfield village that sits above flinty fields and woody lanes. This is a unique part of the extreme north eastern edge of the Chilterns Hills. Can be muddy and sticky after rain so poles and supports recommended but generally a gentle terrain on established tracks. Lunch: Lunch at the Duck and Fox or a picnic near the pub and in the lovely local church grounds
