Wednesday, 29 January 2020 - 5 miles - LONDON PLAQUES - VIEWING THE HOMES OF THE GREAT AND THE GOOD! - VICTORIA TO PICCADILLY CIRCUS - Leader: Hilary J
Starting from Victoria Station with a lovely walk through St James' Park and Green Park. We start our walk properly in Mayfair South W1, London's most exclusive and wealthiest district. Looking at 37 plaques (some English Heritage & others commemorative). Information will be given on key plaques so an opportunity to learn something new and hopefully contribute as well. Some of the subjects of the plaques will be names that you don't recognise, but they all commemorate significant people and their contribution to society. This is a leisurely walk with time for a snack on route.
