Wednesday, 5 May 2021 - BROCKWELL PARK TO CLAPHAM COMMON - 5 miles - Leader: Hilary J
A lovely meander through Brockwell Park to Clapham Common with street walking as well. Stopping to look at Brockwell Hall, a late Georgian house, the Brixton Windmill built by John Ashby in 1816 and recently renovated, The Orangery in the middle of the Notre Dame Estate " formerly part of a miniature landscape estate with a lake, belonging to the Thornton family" built in 1793 and finally Holy Trinity Church on the Common. The church is most famously associated with William Wilberforce and the group of friends known to history as "the Clapham Sect". A walk with an historical flavour!
