Tuesday, 14 September 2021 - ENFIELD TO CHIGWELL (A LONDON LOOP FESTIVAL WALK) - 9.5 miles - Leader: Barbara M
Starting at Enfield Lock station, we cross the Lee Valley and proceed by tracks and field paths past a Woodland Burial Ground, Gilwell Park Scout Headquarters, and the fringes of Epping Forest, to Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge on Chingford Plain. Our walk then takes us through open spaces and along woodland paths to Buckhurst Hill and the Roding Valley before the final descent into Chigwell.

An extremely wet morning where the rain didn't let up unil 2pm - Gilwell Park

Only two walkers plus the leader made it for this morning's section

Bedraggled walker at the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge

Swans and cygnets (plus a Canadian Goose) at Roding Valley Meadows

Simon, a "London Loop Leader" joins us to carry out his regular inspection of this section of the London Loop

No need for ponchos on the drier afternoon section of the walk
