Thursday, 16 September 2021 - WINCHELSEA CIRCULAR VIA PETT LEVEL - 11 miles - Leader: Ann C
A circular walk from the charming Ancient Town of Winchelsea. Two attractive contrasting landscapes – rolling hills above, and the liminal expanse of Pett level stretching to the sea below. There are some steep climbs and descents so bring sticks if you use them, and be prepared for rough paths and rickety stiles. Awkward train times at Winchelsea make for a longish day out – planned return train is at 17:45, reaching St Pancras at 19:21.
Lunch and facilities: Use loos on train on outward journey. Pub lunch (Royal Oak at Pett village) or picnic at recreation ground nearby plus drink at pub.
