Tuesday, 7th December - THE END OF THE LOOP - RAINHAM TO PURFLEET - 5 miles - Leader: Barbara M
A short final section from Rainham to Purfleet, crossing or skirting Rainham Marshes (depending on the condition of the paths) before reaching the Thames. Good views over the river to Erith, where the London Loop begins, and the Dartford Creek Barrier which we passed in Stage 1. The "Loop" is not a loop, as pedestrians are not allowed on the QEII bridge. This is as close as it gets. We may celebrate with a coffee break at the RSPB cafe.
Lunch: Purfleet RSPB cafe

Site of old Thames Ferry that ran between Rainham and Erith. Its a shame the ferry no longer runs as it would have been a great way to connect the beginning and end of the loop.
