South Bank Ramblers

Saturday 5 March 2022 - FISH AND CHIPS COASTAL WALK: HASTINGS TO ST LEONARD'S WARRIOR SQUARE -  9 miles -  Leader:MartinF

This walk consists of two parts; The walk up onto the cliffs overlooking Hastings old town is the shorter followed by fish and chips or picnic by the sea before visiting woods in the Bohemia district between Hastings and St Leonard's on Sea followed by a promenade walk via the pier and the garden suburb of architect Decimus Burton before reaching St Leonard's rail station. This ramble has many drop out points because the route is parallel to the sea with well served bus and rail transport. A popular exit is after large cod and chips near Hastings station. The shorter winter daylight and weather should allow for a longer lunch break and time for individual wanderings in the old town before setting off towards Bohemia and St Leonard's.  Lunch: Fish and chips
