The second stage of the Pilgrims Way returns to Shooters Hill Road, branching off at Welling to walk across an open space and through the woods to Lesnes Abbey for a last view of London before joining the Thames, following London Loop 1 to the crossing of the Cray (which would not have been available to Chaucer), and an urban walk into Dartford, Drop-out points at Erith and Slade Green stations Lunch: Picnic/cafe in Erith
