It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eileen Smith on the 6th April. Eileen was a focused, dedicated and warm hearted member of our South Bank community. She was an active and inspiring member of the Committee and for many years the key leader of the Walks Team, guiding the team through the turbulent Covid years and embedding all the new initiatives that came our way. 

Eileen led many walks, often with her partner Roger, which took us to undiscovered parts of London. Those walks were a joy to attend and full of historical information. Eileen will be greatly missed by so many people not only by her friends, family and the South Bank community but also all the students Eileen taught as a University Lecturer in Biochemistry.
