05 APR 2025 FAVERSHAM TOWN WALK - WITH TWO CREEKS - Hilary J.

This town walk gives you a 'flavour of Faversham'. The oldest market town in Kent dating back to pre-Roman times Faversham is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. We will enjoy a walk around this charming bustling ancient town on market day. The town has more than 400 listed buildings a 16th century Guildhall and is home to Britain's oldest brewery Shepherd Neame, the Church of St Mary of Charity whose iconic spire acted as a landmark for sailors. After lunch we explore Faversham’s rich maritime and farming heritage by walking alongside its two creeks. Faversham Creek and Oare Creek both give an insight to Faversham's diverse heritage.
