Saturday, 14 August 2021 - HISTORIC RYE CIRCULAR VIA CAMBER SANDS - 9 miles - Leader: Roger B
This is a fascinating and most unusual, mainly flat walk leading from the historic Cinque Ports Town of Rye along the Rother River to Camber Sands with its shallow and up to 650 yrd wide sandy beach lined by magnificent sand dunes. After lunch back to Rye through the grassy marsh land of Romney Marsh visiting the unusual 'barn church' of St. Mary, E Guldeford on the way. Note: The section along Camber Sands beach (about a mile) is entirely on sand. (SWC154).
Lunch: Cafes/Pub in Camber or Picnic on the beach.
