Tuesday, 17 August 2021 - ROBERTSBRIDGE TO ETCHINGHAM VIA MERRIMENTS GARDEN - 7 miles - Leader: Linda C
Garden Walk: An undulating walk through woods, farmland and along country lanes to reach Merriments Garden where we stop for a late lunch and visit the garden. We then walk to Burgh Wood and on to Etchingham Station.
Merriments is a 4 acre, RHS partner garden with beautiful colour themed borders. Entry is £9 full price, £8 retired payable at the gate.
Lunch: there is a café serving lunch and snacks in the garden but it can be busy at lunch time. There is a picnic spot outside the garden; please note, no picnicking is allowed inside the garden.

· Some good views on our way: possibly Haremere Hall in the distance

· Not on the original menu: stocking up on runner beans from wayside stall

· Merriments Garden: one of many herbaceous borders

- Helenium display

Under the Rowan tree

· Bold colours in the beds; and among the trees, a hide for watching the birds
